A: Liquid supplements can have up to a 98% absorption rate compared to 5 – 18% with pills and capsules. A: Dosage recommendations are listed on every LICKS® gel carton and Gummi Vit bottle. We provide dosage recommendations on all of our products in an effort to be mindful of absorption rates for pets and cost to the consumer. 

That said, it is important to note that it is impossible to “overdose” on any of our products; it would be like a human trying to overdose on Vitamin-C. Your dog or cat would have to eat a tremendous amount of our product (more than offered in any carton or Gummi Vit bottle) to experience any adverse reactions. Simply stated, if your dog or cat’s body needs the nutrients in our supplements, they will absorb it. If they don’t, they will excrete it.

The important thing to bear in mind when administering our formulas is consistency. While we do have some situational formulas to be administered as needed (ATHLETE, DIGESTION & ZEN), the rest of our products work best when administered habitually.

Q: Can I use dog Zen on my cat?

A: No, our dog Zen contains chamomile, which is unsafe for cats, but we do make a full line of cat products including a Zen formula.

Q: Can I use cat Urinary Tract Care on my dog?

A: Yes, you should follow the same size chart listed on the cat box if you are using it with your dog. It would work best on a smaller dog.

Q: What is the difference between Joint + Heart and ElderDog?

A: Joint + Heart is for all ages of larger breed dogs while ElderDog is for older dogs of all breeds.

Q: Can I use expired product?

A: Yes, We have actually had new testing done on our gel packets and they have been given a 5 year shelf life, instead of 2. So, the products you have are still good and just fine to give your fur baby.

Q: Is it expensive?

A: No, a 30 use box is a 60 day supply for a small dog. The 10 use boxes are 20 day supplies for small dogs, so it is in line with other products.
